8 Worst Things The Winter Soldier Has Ever Done

4. Was Responsible For The Assassination Of JFK? - Days Gone By

Winter Soldier Sniper
Marvel Comics

Given that the backstory of the Winter Soldier saw the character tasked with offing a bunch of government officials and high-ranking sorts, many have wondered whether Bucky had a hand in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

In the comics, this has been alluded to and hinted at by comments from Barnes. Most interestingly, there's the Days Gone By story that was the 50th and final issue of the Captain America Vol. 5 run. Here, Bucky has taken on the moniker of Captain America as his own, and we find him reflecting back on some of the horrors of his past.

One such horror seems to be his involvement in taking out JFK, with several theories and nods suggesting he was a second gunman for Kennedy's demise.

Going one step further, the big-screen Marvel Cinematic Universe outright states that the Winter Soldier was present on that fateful day back in November 22nd, 1963.

This isn't the only Marvel character to have had an involvement in JFK's death, of course, for both Magneto and Red Skull have been key instruments in the death of two alternative versions of the 35th President.
