9 Actors Who Begged For Their Movie Characters To Die
8. Jamie Lee Curtis - Halloween H20 & Resurrection
Why She Wanted To Die
Considering she's come back twice to play Laurie Strode, it's strange to note that the Scream Queen initially wasn't all that keen. She was contractually obligated to return for Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later but wanted it to be the end of the series, which was impossible thanks to a clause in producer Moustapha Akkad wrote a clause saying that legally, the writers could never kill off Michael Myers.
They reached an impasse and Curtis almost left just weeks before filming, only for a script rewrite to include the paramedic gimmick at the end saved production. Curtis still insisted that there was no hint of a sequel (no matter how inevitable) and then requested that her character be killed off for that sequel in return for agreeing to the new story.
How It Happened
In the opening act of Resurrection, it's revealed that Michael Myers was never killed - and that Laurie accidentally killed an innocent paramedic he'd disguised as himself - before he turns up at the psychiatric facility Laurie is kept in and kills her by stabbing her and throwing her off the roof. That's what you call overkill.
Still, wasn't enough to stop her returning for the other reboot, though, was it?
