9 Actors Who Could Completely Ruin Their Upcoming Movies
5. Luke Evans - Dracula (Universal Monsters Team-Up)
So far the cinematic universe craze has been mainly localised on superheroes - Marvel's format-making success, DC's continued perseverance in the face of constant failure, Fox's confusion over what continuity is and Sony becoming the laughing stock of Hollywood - but things are soon going to expand massively. Transformers, Fast And Furious and even Hanna-Barbera are getting in on the act, but the one that's likely to hit first is the Universal Monsters reboot.
It looks damn fine too. There's The Mummy with Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp's The Invisible Man, The Creature From The Black Lagoon taking on Scarlett Johansson, Russell Crowe's Jekyll and Hyde, along with rumours of much, much more, including Frankenstein, Wolf Man and Van Helsing.
Of course, the biggest of the lot is missing from that list: Dracula. And that's because we've already had that; 2014's forgotten clunker Dracula Untold, which did the classic story only with the twist of being saturated by CGI and utterly boring, was retrofitted during production to be this universe's Iron Man.
And boy, do we not need to have Luke Evans' Vlad back. Alongside Cruise, Deep, Johansson and Crowe he's such a weak link. How the make-up of an eventual crossover works out is unclear, but you can bet he'll be there, front and centre, like a Henry Cavill Superman ruining the fun.
