9 Actors You Didn’t Know Were In Movies

7. Kurt Russell In Forrest Gump

In the world of Hollywood, it doesn't get much cooler than Kurt Russell.

Russell and his magnificent bastard of a jawline have spent over 50 years wowing audiences, with films such as Escape from New York, The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, and Death Proof just a handful of starring credits that this icon has to his name.

After several years of working on Disney productions in his younger days, the real breakout role for Kurt Russell came in John Carpenter's 1979 TV movie, Elvis. As the titular King, Russell showed that he was far more than just kid-friendly House of Mouse fodder, and his star was well and truly on the rise.

Elvis and Kurt would link up years later in 2001's 3000 Miles to Graceland, where a Presley convention was the setting of a casino heist, but there was one other, less recognised time that Kurt Russell and Elvis Presley crossed paths.

In the iconic Forrest Gump - which won a staggering six Academy Awards at the 1995 edition of the Oscars - there's a moment where Tom Hanks' Forrest looks back on a time when he shared a moment with a young Elvis Presley.

For this brief scene, we only get a minimal look at Elvis himself - played by The Frighteners' Peter Dobson - but what's most fun about all of this is that the voice of Elvis Presley is the aforementioned Kurt Russell.
