9 Actors You Won't Believe Are Related

8. Rip Torn And Sissy Spacek

sRelation: Cousins Men In Black and Carrie: two films that couldn't be further apart in genre, tone and narrative. Rip Torn's Zed in the first and second Men In Black Films are arguably his most well-known performances, with Sissy Spacek's undoubtedly being the titular role of Carrie - the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel. The two actors have appeared in numerous other films before and since those, but it was because of Torn that Spacek even became an actor at all. The two of them are first cousins from Torn's maternal side of the family, and it was he that helped Spacek become an actor. As a young woman, Spacek moved to New York in 1966 to pursue her career in acting, and lived with Torn and his then wife while trying to find her feet. Torn helped her out by getting her enrolled in the Actors Studio.
