9 Awesome Trilogies Made From Completely Unrelated Films

5. Tarantino€™s History Trilogy

The Films: Inglourious Basterds (2009), Django Unchained (2013) and Untitled Third Film (201X). Why So Awesome: OK, for this one I'm cheating a little as the final film hasn't been released, but if it€™s anything like the first two parts this will be a true stomper of a trilogy. Around the time Django Unchained was released, Quentin Tarantino revealed he was planning a final historical revenge flick, making the two Christoph Waltz Oscar winning returns to form oddly connected. Obviously little is known and for all we know Tarantino could mess up big time (although hopefully Death Proof taught him a good lesson), but there€™s real potential. With a large scale, movie skewed historical re-imaging followed by something a little less bright and more personal, questioning the morals of revenge, could the final part be the bleakest, and most probing, of the lot? Whenever it's set, expect Christoph Waltz to star and likely grab his third golden baldie.
