9 Awful Characters Who Nearly Ruined Awesome Movies

Rian Johnson's outstanding modern take on classic Agatha Christie's "Whodunit?" stories took the world by storm when it stylishly landed on cinema screens in 2019.

Along with a narrative which kept audiences genuinely guessing right up until the final moments of this thrilling ride, Knives Out also came equipped with one of the most star-studded casts in recent memory. Names like Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon and the unmistakable Daniel Craig, as private eye Benoit Blanc, all kept fans absolutely gripped throughout whilst playing their complex and distinct characters.

That doesn't mean every personality Johnson presented to us was a complete home run, though, as Jaeden Martell's Jacob Thrombey unfortunately proved.

The young son of Donne and Walt Thrombey, Jacob provides little to the overall story other than being a human google search engine. He's also classed as a "little creep" and a "Nazi" during the runtime, but is never given the chance to really expand on those labels due to being relegated to the background for much of the feature.

Of course, it's always going to be difficult to stand out when you're competing with larger than life characters like Blanc and Ransom Drysdale, but did Knives Out really need this little sh*t sat tapping away on his phone for much of the runtime?
