9 Behind-The-Scenes Stories You Didn't Know About Your Favourite Films

1. Steven Spielberg's Spaghetti - Raiders Of The Lost Ark

Going back to his Star Wars stomping grounds, Harrison Ford returned to Tunisia for the shooting of one of his most iconic characters, Indiana Jones, in Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Whilst the cast and crew went out to shoot the Cairo-set scenes they all managed to get sick from food poisoning whilst eating out. The cast and crew got so sick from the poisoning that when John Rhys-Davies bent over in a scene he ended up soiling himself. The only person who did not get sick on set was Steven Spielberg. Spielberg had brought dozens and dozens of cans of Spaghetti-O's and didn't eat any local food whilst filming. The poisoning did however lead to one of the franchises most iconic moments.

The original plan for Indy coming face to face with the Arab Swordsman was to have a battle between the two of them involving Indy using his iconic whip. Fearing he would end up in the same sh*t-uation as his co-star, Ford decided the best thing to do was stand still and shoot the Swordsman dead in one swift movement.
