9 Biggest Unanswered Mysteries In Star Wars

1. What Is Yoda's Species?

Throughout its 43 years, Star Wars has never revealed the name of Yoda's species. Yoda is such an iconic part of the Star Wars universe, which makes this omission all the stranger. Star Wars provides a species name for Yak Face, who appears for about two seconds in Return of the Jedi, but they don't do the same for one of their most famous characters.

Questions about Yoda's biology have arisen again after The Mandalorian introduced fans to another member of the frog-like species. Baby Yoda has become one of the most popular Star Wars characters since the original Yoda, but since fans don't know his species' name, they simply refer to him as "Baby Yoda" (because "the Child" is a lame name for a character.) Though The Mandalorian reveals that this species ages as a much slower rate than humans, since this "baby" is 50 years of age, that's all we've learned about them.

So far, we have met three characters of this species: Yoda, Baby Yoda, and Yaddle. All three are powerful Force wielders. Is this a coincidence, or does this species somehow strongly connect to the Force?

There is a chance that the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian could answer more questions about this mysterious species. Until then, it will remain Star Wars' greatest mystery.
