9 Famous Actors In Real Danger Of Becoming Irrelevant
5. Eddie Murphy
Eddie Murphy's career has been on a downward spiral for some years now, but having only appeared in two movies since 2011 it doesn't seem as though he cares too much.
Once a virtually-unstoppable force of nature on the big screen thanks to his legendary standup routines an impressive number of box office hits throughout the 80's and 90's, Murphy at some point seemingly decided to start coasting on autopilot, leading to a string of critically-reviled efforts.
A decade ago, Murphy could have genuinely reinvented himself as a serious dramatic actor after landing an Academy Award nomination and winning a Golden Globe for his brilliant performance in Dreamgirls. Infuriatingly, instead of embarking on a late-career renaissance the actor's next four live-action roles in Norbit, Meet Dave, Imagine That and A Thousand Words all saw him nominated for Worst Actor at the Razzies instead.
Seemingly more content to sit back and cash in those royalty payments from the Shrek franchise rather than do anything worthwhile in front of the camera, the 56 year-old's former glories will ensure that he always has at least some clout in the industry, despite accomplishing very little for a very long time.
