9 Famous Actors You Won't Recognise In Upcoming Movies

5. Dan Stevens - Beauty & The Beast

Gary Oldman The Darkest Hour
Disney

The question of how Disney would approach the look of the Beast for the forthcoming live action adaptation of Beauty & The Beast was always going to be a pretty intriguing one. It would inevitably also be something of a mine-field: even armed with the best every Disney story and a stunning cast, the male lead could still be disastrous enough to derail the whole thing.

Luckily, they haven't bothered trying to make him more human than was necessary, preferring a more logical and literal adaptation of the cartoon character with added grizzliness and a decidedly more fearsome edge. It works, even if he still looks A LITTLE silly (don't take this as a criticism per se, silliness is not always a terrible thing).

And that approach also means that any hope of recognising Dan Stevens under the effects work swiftly evaporated. He faces a hell of a performance task convincing of Beasts emotions under all that fuzz too.

Even his voice has clearly been tampered with too, registering well below his usual tones for added beastliness.
