9 Films Dominated By The Last Actor You'd Expect

8. Sean Combs €“ Get Him To The Greek

Combs A cameo can go one of two ways €“ they can go well, or they can go badly, and the feeling towards it tends to be exacerbated by its briefness. You know that they stuck whomever in the film to make an impression €“ after all, that€™s the whole point of a cameo. So if it falls flat, it really falls flat, reaching such David Beckham-esque (seriously, watch him in Goal) levels of arse-shifting uncomfortable-ness. So when Puff Daddy was cast in Get Him To The Greek, I was understandably concerned. The acting careers of rap stars tend to be something of a mixed bag, so let€™s just say expectations were low. But really, I shouldn€™t have worried, because Sean Combs€™ (as he wished to be known for the film) record label boss was hilarious. It seems to be something of a pattern in the Forgetting Sarah Marshall universe that the mainstays will be showed up by the support, and Combs€™ €˜mind-f**king€™ you-cannot-outrun-me-I-am-black performance even managed to outshine Russell Brand€™s dissolute rock star. Honestly, no-one was as surprised as me, but watching Combs€™ Sergio tell Pharell Williams that he was one shirt away from Carlton was the closest thing to comic gold this performance had. His performance is bound to catch up with you eventually, because as the great man says, you can€™t outrun him.
