9 Films That Actually Benefited From Bad Reviews

4. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2016)

When the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel came to blows in early 2016, Warner Bros expected nothing short of a gargantuan percentage of their investment to be returned - and then some.

Early reviews suggested something closer to the contrary. A movie that 'beats you into submission and makes you wonder if the sun will ever come out again.' Dawn Of Justice was treading in dangerous waters.

With critics lambasting the super-clash, Warner Bros had no choice but to lean into the fans for some moral support. However, After Batman V Superman's Twitter account told us how the film 'totally blew (@raniaresh's) mind'; a few curious glances were aimed their way.

Later on it was noticed that this Twitter account (now-banned) was merely an egg icon with a bio reading 'I did NOT enjoy Batman V Superman'.

Not stopping at tweet fabrication, Warner Bros went one step further in replacing the statement with another slab of generic praise from an unsuspecting @TriangleSpidey - '#BatmanVSuperman was absolutely mind blowing'.

We have to applaud the studio's ingenuity in handing the critical control over to the fans and the fact that the film is still 9th on the list of Biggest Worldwide Openings shows that these derailing comments didn't completely succeed in murdering the venture...even if their controversial practises in tweet forgery are frowned upon.
