Reason(s) To Watch Before You Die: On paper this film sounds like it shouldve been a huge hit due to the cast involved and the release date (It was Nicholsons first film since One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest and Brandos first since The Godfather) but it floppedspectacularly. Put simply, it was too bat-sh*t crazy for audiences back in 76 mainly down to Brandos take on his character. Firstly there is his accent; It starts as Irish and ends as something else entirely. He also wears numerous nonsensical disguises including womens clothes, he brandishes a weapon he made up himself on set and at one point he serenades his horse. Almost forty years ago all that made audiences stay away but with so many WTF moments, forty years later, all that make this a film you must see before you die.
