9 Horrifying Questions About Toy Story That Should Really Bother You

8. Why Are Toys Okay With Being Slaves?

Toys are constantly being treated like garbage by humans, being flushed down toilets, being thrown in the mud, and being fed to pets. These are by no means malicious acts, since humans have no idea that toys are alive, but the awful truth is that the toys seem to enjoy being used and played with, and view it as their only life purpose, even though they are intelligent creatures that can think and create. There is some serious slave mentality going on with their species.

In fact, the toys are even branded by their owners, in some possibly intentional slave imagery from the filmmakers.

You’d think that by now, there would have been a toy uprising. Imagine all of the toys in every toy store, factory, and house in the world, and you’d realize that toys outnumber people on planet Earth. Sure, they don’t have weapons, but the sheer number of them might be able to overpower a few communities of humans.

Or, at the very least, why don’t some toys reveal themselves to the world as sentient creatures? They should demand civil liberties, and there should be protests and trials for toys’ rights. (Oddly enough, that's pretty much the exact plot to Ted 2).

Sure, toys were created to be humans’ playthings, but the toys still have the free will to do what they want with their lives, and you’d think that at least some toys would question what they were meant to do, and explore alternate lives. That would definitely be an interesting spinoff.
