You wanna talk about a hero turn that came out of nowhere, then the shining example is Norman Nordstrom aka The Blind Man from the Don't Breathe series.

In the first film, a gang of teenagers break into Norman's house to steal a large sum of money he has hidden there. Unfortunately, the tables turn when Norman systematically picks them off.

A disabled guy defending himself against thieves in his own home? What's wrong with that? Well, the problem lies mainly with the girl that Norman has tied up in the basement that he forcefully impregnated.

Yeah, that's not a very heroic thing to do.

Come Don't Breathe 2, Norman has completely changed his ways. He now lives with an adopted daughter and must rescue her when she gets kidnapped by her gangster father. He even dies a hero's death!

What the hell?

They completely flipped the script on Norman when the sequel came around and it's jarring as all get out. The only way you could enjoy him as a good guy was if you somehow managed to completely forget all his heinous actions from the previous film.

Don't Breathe? More like Don't Think.
