6. Dysentery Makes Indiana Jones A Speedy Killer
In Steven Spielberg's unforgettable adventure classic Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is trying to track down a kidnapped Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), and eventually comes across a gigantic sword-wielding brute who wants to make short work of the man. Indy, never shying away from a fight, promptly pulls his gun out and shoots the guy dead with one well-placed bullet, nonchalantly walking off afterwards. The story behind this hilarious scene is pure, dumb luck (or perhaps not, for Harrison Ford); Ford came down with a bout of food poisoning, and so wasn't able to shoot the fight scene as scripted (a lengthy sword-fight sequence). Instead, we got one of the most iconic scenes in movie history, and one that surely is a whole lot more becoming of the Indiana Jones character than a protracted battle sequence. Superb.
