9 Marvel Movie Plots That DC Should Totally Rip Off

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

While Marvel movies are light-hearted, funny and variant in genre, DC€™s upcoming slate looks to be full of dark, serious character dramas. But just because it appears that DC is trying their hardest to distance themselves from the Marvel way of doing things doesn€™t mean that€™s actually going to happen. From a story standpoint at least, Marvel€™s fare offers a great starting off point that DC could look to emulate. Marvel has had plenty of success covering a variety of tones and genres, all the while fitting them under the umbrella of a superhero movie. From the fantasy world of Thor to the political thriller of The Winter Soldier, they have shown an ability to construct compelling narratives of all sorts based around familiar plot beats and characters. Sure, their basic storylines could be applied to plenty of movies, but when lined up with a corresponding DC hero, these Marvel plots make complete sense as potentially compelling DC movies. This is especially true when Marvel's characters are replaced with similar DC heroes. In matching up similar DC characters to pre-existing Marvel films, we can speculate on how the story could break, what type of genre we could be in for, and areas where DC could look to improve upon. Looking across DC€™s entire upcoming slate of films, these Marvel movies could be the perfect inspiration for their new universe.
