9 Marvel Movie Plots That DC Should Totally Rip Off

1. Batman V Superman - Iron Man 2

The Basic Premise: After being publicly outed, the hero is pressured into helping the military fight national security concerns. Unbeknownst to him, a dark force has been awoken by his presence and is preparing to strike, while a rival businessman also seeks to bring him down. Amidst all of this, the makings of a larger superhero team are being assembled in the background. How DC Could Make It Better: Iron Man 2 suffered because it spent too much time setting up the Avengers and not enough time dealing with Tony's journey of inadequacy. Similarly, all of those easter eggs hindered the development of the forces opposing him. To wit, Vanko and Justin Hammer were more like plot devices than actual fleshed-out characters, and that same mistake must not befall Batman and Lex Luthor. Everyone knows that DC is building towards Justice League but their best course of action for that to succeed is to focus on a strong, singular story for this outing. DC ought to plant some seeds towards their upcoming superhero team-up, but they should never be distracting from the main conflict or the development of the hero. They need to use Batman V Superman to build up goodwill and establish characters, not tease a sequel. Granted, when Captain America: Civil War comes out, it may offer a more comparable story template, but it's problematic to suggest that Batman V Superman could rip off the story of a movie that releases two months later than itself.
