Games have become an increasingly important part of Comic Con-International in recent years, and Sledgehammer Games is capitalising on this with Call Of Duty: WW2 announcements at the 2017 event.

The developer has already outlined its plans to take the series back to its roots in the trenches of World War II and revealed first-look footage at E3, but there are still plenty of juicy details in reserve for San Diego.

So what can we expect at the California expo? It's entirely possible that Sledgehammer is readying an announcement about the next Call of Duty's campaign mode as we edge closer to its November release date.

This could potentially be supported by new trailer footage, but equally likely is a closer look at the game's multiplayer modes, with attendees given the chance to try them out.

Comic-Con is the ideal testbed for this kind of thing, given the fan-first nature of the show, but those who aren't fortunate enough to be there in person should be able to get an eyeful of the old-school warfare via the internet.
