9 Movie Animals Who Outperformed Their Human Masters

1. Uggie in The Artist

You knew it was coming. In the horrendously awards-loved The Artist, Uggie plays Jack, the pet of silent film star George Valentin (Jean Dujardin). While Valentin suffers a severe downturn in his fortunes due to the advent of sound, Jack stands loyally by him the whole way. Which is way more than Valentin deserves, since he's a douche. The wonderfully expressive and vivacious Uggie is the master of the endearing little looks, bowing and playing dead like a champ. And he saves Valentin's worthless life at the end, to boot. Even after Valentin put him in danger by setting his apartment on fire. Man, I didn't like this movie. But Uggie's awesome.

So there are my picks. Who are your favorite animal thespians?
