9 Movie Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (May 24th)
7. Assassin's Creed Is Set Only 35% In The Past
Despite a rock solid trailer building some high expectations for Assassin's Creed's release later this year, Fox may have put their foot in their mouth by admitting to IGN that 65% of the movie will be set in the present, and only 35% in 15th century Spain.
Fassbender said of the decision, "There are certain things that we absolutely want to respect in the game, but we also want to bring new elements to the game...We’re trying to make a cinematic experience, so there are new things that we have to introduce."
Most fans would've expected the balance to basically be the opposite, with 2/3 of the moving taking place in the exotic past, and while this is definitely something to be cautious about, it absolutely doesn't sink the film either...yet.
