9 Movies So Annoying They Lose You In The First 60 Seconds

7. What Happened To The Prologue?! - Jurassic World Dominion

Terminator Dark Fate
Universal

And after jumping to the action that precedes those movie-setting sequences for the prior two entries, it's time to take a closer look at a prologue, or lack of, that immediately angered folks who had been expecting a certain development for an age.

Your writer is talking about those many prehistoric film fans who settled down to take in the prologue sequence they'd been analysing and unpacking online for months, after it was unleashed in November last year before Jurassic World Dominion's June 2022 release, only to discover that Colin Trevorrow and Universal had actually chosen to leave out this exciting five-minute prologue; something that was rather quietly announced upon it being dropped to fans last year.

In place of the sequence that involved dinosaurs roaming the planet back in the day and a colossal carnivore showdown before segueing to said dinos invading a drive-in movie theatre in modern times, the third Jurassic World entry gets underway with yet another Mosasaurus attack opening before that awesome creature goes missing for the rest of the runtime.

Oh, except from having a paddle with some whales late on. How sweet.

Trevorrow himself has noted how he feels the OG prologue is still the true opening for his Dominion outing. But that still doesn't change the fact that some Jurassic die-hards no doubt felt that Universal really dropped the ball in not shaving off five-minutes elsewhere in the staggering 146-minute theatrical length to let loose this well-received original opening instead.
