9 Movies That Were Better Remakes Than Official Remakes

The Star Trek remake is one of the rare examples of a remake capturing the essence of its source material, scoring a lovely 8 out of 10 on IMDb and offering nothing but credit to the outer space adventures of the OG Enterprise crew. That being said, it's undeniable that there's one film already out there that's hit the heady heights of Star Trek and won't be knocked from its ever-present pedestal: Galaxy Quest.

Yes, it's ridiculous, yes, it's a parody, yes, it's an entirely ludicrous concept that kind of mocks everything that Star Trek stands for, but by being all of these things, it's the perfect homage to the campy space classic in all its intergalactic glory. Fans of Star Trek have taken the beloved movie under their wing and turned it into a cult classic in the years since its release, earning the same Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation that the original 60s series did.

If anything embodies boldly going where no man has gone before, it's yanking a load of disenchanted actors out of comic con and launching them into space.
