9 Potential Ways Marvel May Have Screwed Up Thor: The Dark World

9. Spending Too Much Time On Earth

Thor Dark World 51 One of the things that genuinely excites me about Thor: The Dark World is the fact that we have been told it will further explore the nine realms. The first Thor movie spent the majority of its time on Earth - as did every other MCU movie to date - and, given how stunning Asgard and Jotunheim looked, that was a real shame. The CGI landscapes of Asgard looked amazing and the eerie ice realm of Jotunheim was filled with thrilling atmosphere, so the potential for how the other realms might look on film is extremely intriguing. I can't wait to see how the likes of Muspelheim (the home of the Fire Giants and Demons), Svartalfheim (the home of the Dark Elves) and Alfheim (the home of the Light Elves) might look in live action. But the majority of the footage that we've seen in the trailers seems to indicate that a lot of time will be spent on Earth. There's an entire universe there to explore, so we have to hope that this movie takes advantage of that fact and shows us more of it. The potential for awesome aesthetics in the visuals of the nine realms is limitless. Earth, comparatively, would be extremely boring.
