2. The Sidekick's Time to Shine

Perpetrator: The Dark Knight Rises I won't turn this into a "Nightwing Sequel" petition, because, quite frankly, I have no interest in one. I know for a fact the Nolan Batman is closed and over, but it does easily draw a character blueprint for a sequel. And, just to be even more clear, I'm fully aware that John Blake wouldn't become Nightwing, he'd become the new Batman. However, it's ultimately not as conclusive as a lot of people would want, and it's certainly spurred some crazy theories and hopes about a return to this kind of Batman film. It was Nolan's send-off to the hero, but his way of going about the movie made audiences take things too far. And it's patronizing to some viewers who were truly expecting the end of Batman in a tidy way, with no loose ends. I, for one, don't like the adoption of a new protagonist, like the likes of the xXx series, in which they can just nab any action hero they want for rounds three and four. I certainly didn't expect Batman to do it. But you can't expect Nolan to please everyone, I suppose. And it is a matter of just growing up and getting over it.
