9 Upcoming Movies Studios Have No Confidence In

Nothing is ever a sure thing in Hollywood, but it's safe to say that no matter what critics think of movies like Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Disney is mega-confident that they're going to make mad bank at the box office.

But on the other side of the fence, there are those upcoming movies that studios are struggling to conceal their utter lack of confidence in, from ultra-budget sequels in colossal blockbuster franchises, to complex auteur-driven projects deep in post-production, and even long-finished movies that are effectively being sent out to die.

These 10 films, most of them potential-filled projects with talented filmmakers and actors involved, are not-so-secretly making their respective studios twitchy, and whether they've started shooting yet or not, as audience members it's certainly smart to keep your expectations low.

In fairness, several of these films could come out the other side and score positive reviews from critics and viewers alike, but as commercial entities they're looking far dicier - which, of course, is what studios really care about.

And when the people bankrolling a movie can barely hide how little faith they have in their own product, you know things are bad...
