As we've already touched upon - and as will be the case with Captain America: Civil War in comparison to the Civil War comic book arc - these movies will be a lot smaller in scale than the comic book arc they share a name with. Like Civil War, there'll be considerably less characters, but there will also be less power being thrown around, no cosmic beings sticking their noses in and no alternative realms or universes being explored. The two movies will certainly take place both on Earth and in space, there will definitely be a lot of action and the cast of characters will certainly be fairly large, but the events in the comic book version of the story will prove to be much grander and more ridiculous in comparison - and, quite frankly, the movies would end up being silly if they tried to match those levels.
