A big screen remake of 1978 BATTLESTAR GALACTICA?
Sci-Fi fans have for a long time cried out for a big screen adaptation of BATTLESTAR GALATICA and they are going to get it, just not quite the way they wanted it. IGN have heard that Universal have put the wheels into motion on a big screen movie based not on the recent and much loved Ron Moore created t.v. series BUT instead the late 70's original. Series creator Glen A. Hanson is working on the script and will produce. Here's a confession. I've never seen the new t.v. series and apart from very brief bits here and there, I have never seen anything from this series in the 70's. So if your like me, you will probably need this synopsis...
The story followed a band of humans who were the only survivors of a devastating attack on their colonial homeworld by the vicious cybernetic race known as the Cylons. The survivors, led by Commander Adama, embark on a journey through space aboard the military vessel Battlestar Galactica to find refuge on a distant planet called Earth.IGN tell us that despite studio denials, we can expect an official announcement in the next few weeks.
