A Good Day To Die Hard: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Die Hard

3. Nakatomi Plaza/Twentieth Century Fox

NakatomiPlaza In the first Die Hard film, McClane arrives in LA to reconcile with his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia). Together, they attend a Christmas party on Christmas Eve at the Nakatomi Plaza building, but of course, instead of sitting down to a nice glass of wine and good company, the duo soon find themselves in the midst of a terrorist raid led by Hans Gruber. The Nakatomi Plaza building serves as the main setting for the film as McClane scurries about undetected by the terrorists by hiding in elevator shafts etc before encountering Gruber at the top of the building in the final scenes. Here's a neat bit of trivia, though - the Nakatomi Building is in actual fact the HQ for Twentieth Century Fox, who distributed the film. The company charged itself rent for the use of the then unfinished building, and due to the tourist interest in the Fox Plaza building in L.A., people are now forbidden from taking photos outside.
