4. Did Somebody Say 'Shared Universe'?
Shared universes. These days, everyone worth their salt has one. Before Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and before The Avengers, there was Freddy Vs. Jason. And, dodgy acting (hello kid whose every emotion looks like a constipated smile) and iffy script aside, it was wonderful. Silly as it was, it dialed back comedy Freddy and made the Dream Demon a force to be reckoned with again. Following the release of Freddy Vs. Jason, we were promised more: the introduction of Michael Myers, Pinhead and The Evil Dead's Ash to the fray (the latter becoming a comic book sequel instead). Alas, this was not to be, and we were left with the gloomy, personality-free reboots that followed. Well, some of us still want our Freddy Vs Jason 2, even if it is with a completely different Freddy and Jason. I hear that Ashley Williams fellow is still knocking about too. Groovy...
