Even in the film's least-interesting moments, it's tough to argue with John Krasinski's work behind the camera.

Aided by skilled cinematographer Polly Morgan, Krasinski wrings every drop of suspense from the various perilous scenarios he envisions for the characters, confirming his genre debut was no fluke at all.

Beyond that, Krasinski also confirms himself a fine actors' director, particularly with how skillfully he directs Murphy and Simmonds during scenes of downtime away from the action.

It's fair to assume that Krasinski will be back to helm A Quiet Place Part III, after which it'll be interesting to see the further direction of his career.

It wouldn't be surprising at all if the Marvel Cinematic Universe came a-knocking in the near-future, because he's proven beyond any doubt that he can handle the pressures of a mid-budget project.
