Add Dennis Quaid to G.I. JOE

G.I. JOE casting announcements are coming in thick and fast. The latest one from Variety is veteran Dennis Quaid who has signed on to play General Hawk, the grizzled leader of the Stephen Sommers directed movie which will begin lensing next month in Los Angeles. Wiki describe Quaid's character as "keenly intelligent and perceptive and quite capable of totally selfless acts in support of his team-mates. An excellent leader!"

We all know that Quaid's a good actor, he doesn't need me to ring his praises here. It's good solid casting, exactly the caliber of actor you would want for but of course we shouldn't forget that he's 53 years old, an age that is significantly order than the majority of the cast. Will the age make him stand out as a bit odd in this movie, or will it give him that extra authority and respect that this leader role needs. To see all the previous casting announcements on G.I.
