1. Died Hard
When you are lacking ideas for the next instalment of your franchise, the best thing to do is throw some time travel into the mix. Bruce Willis is no stranger to the mind melting concepts of leaping around the space/time continuum; after all, he has done it twice already, and the bar has been set pretty low for time travel films since Men In Black 3. So putting Old McClane into a head on meet with Nakatomi McClane might be an ace idea after all. A simple set up might be that old McClane is sent back in time to rescue Harry Ellis from certain death at the hands of Hans Gruber because as it turns out, he was destined to become the C.E.O of a world bank, and could have prevented the economic crash of 2008. So once again, McClane is in the throws of Christmas 1988 and has to simultaneously avoid his past self, and help alter history. This will inevitably lead to an old and young McClane team up, and history being changed for the better, thus technically erasing Die Hards 2 through 5, and leaving us with just the one Die Hard film. Some might suggest, not a bad thing after all.
