After The Dark Knight Rises: 8 Reasons Why Batman Reboot Must Happen

8. Batman's Death in The Dark Knight Rises Would Be Ballsy Way To Make Sure It Must Happen

The biggest buzz floating around Rises is the idea that Nolan might do the unthinkable and kill off Bruce Wayne. While this strikes some people as the absolute worst thing to do, it would also be the boldest. For starters it would be a ground breaking move that hasn't been done in a major super hero flick before. There's also the added benefit of making sure that the next Bat Director has to reboot which ensures that future movies won't be able to mess up Nolan's story with shoddy retcons or haphazard resurrections. Finally it would have the potential of setting an even bigger precedent than properly ending a franchise before rebooting. This could affect other super hero flicks by wiping out the idea that certain characters are always going to be safe. How awesome would it be if the next Spider-Man or Daredevil movie had the added tension of viewers not being certain that the hero will make it through the final reel alive? Batman Begins broke a lot of ground and really changed the rules of the game for super hero movies, but The Dark Knight Rises has the potential to create a whole new game altogether, especially if it paves the way for yet another game changing Batman movie.
