Aladdin Trailer Reactions: 4 Ups & 5 Downs

Looking better, but still a mixed bag.

Disney just dropped the first full trailer for their upcoming live-action Aladdin remake, and after the PR disaster caused by the previous teaser trailer - which focused on a janky CGI Genie (Will Smith) - it's abundantly clear they should've just waited and dropped this more contextual trailer first.

It's fair to say that the jury's still out on whether or not Aladdin will actually be a decent movie - if definitely doesn't look great, that's for sure - but this trailer delved deeper into Guy Ritchie's world-building and, yes, showed off some of the crowd-pleasing musical renditions.

Fingers are crossed that each successive trailer might start turning audiences around on Disney's least-convincing live-action remake to date, though with barely two months to go until the movie hits screens, they don't have a ton of time to change the negative online tide against it.

Then again, Disney's likely banking on more casual, nostalgic audiences turning up regardless of its quality. In terms of milking that nostalgia, this trailer certainly did a solid job, even if the movie's still looking pretty rough in places. Speaking of which...
