Alice Through The Looking Glass: 10 Reasons It's Worse Than The Original

6. The Wonderland Characters Are Completely Wasted

Sadly, despite the lavish visual effects and immense production design of Wonderland, the supporting characters are for the most part totally wasted.

The likes of the White Rabbit, the Tweedles, the Dormouse, Bayard and the Cheshire Cat have practically nothing to do beyond cracking the occasional one-liner: was there really nothing more valuable or important for them to do? What a shame.

Then there's Anne Hathaway's White Queen, who for some reason has turned into a complete goofball since the last movie, stripping away what made her so entertaining in the first film and pretty much just making her a daft punchline. Like most of the characters in the film, the justification for her existence here is weak to say the least.
