Alien: Covenant Will Look "Battered," Says Michael Fassbender

The movie will look more Alien.

Although currently seen starring as the titular villain in X-Men:Apocalypse, Michael Fassbender is looking ahead to one of his next major projects - Alien:Covenant.

The actor is in Sydney filming the Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel, and he spoke to the Australian newspaper Herald Sun (via AVPGalaxy) about the movie, giving a little bit of detail about the look and feel of the film, describing the sets as having:

"An old-school element where things look battered, like the original Star Wars."

It's certainly an interesting approach to take, and moves the film further away from Prometheus. The fact that the world of that film didn't look as lived-in as in the Alien films was one of the criticisms levelled at the film, and hopefully a move back towards the old-style will help this feel more like anAlien film.

Fassbender will of course be reprising his role as David from Prometheus, and he's teased just what we can expect from the character (who stole the show previously) this time around:

"He is creepy. And hes back in a whole new way."

Quite what that will entail remains to be seen, but the film will focus on the Covenant crew discovering a dark and dangerous new world, who's sole inhabitant is David.
