All The Fox Film Franchises Disney Now Owns

14. Ice Age

Given that the Disney brand has always been synonymous with animation, it's a bit of an eye-opener that their purchase of Fox's film division also means the acquisition of one of their most notable animation rivals of the past twenty years.

Fox bought CGI animation house Blue Sky in 1997, and broke into the animated movie market in a big way with 2002's Ice Age. The tale of long-extinct mammals learning to get along in the face of a global apocalypse proved a huge success, and four sequels followed. To date, the franchise has earned upwards of $3.2 billion worldwide.

Let's face it, Manny, Sid, Diego and company have managed to survive every cataclysmic event the world has thrown their way; surely they can survive this multi-billion dollar deal.
