All The Fox Film Franchises Disney Now Owns

Of course, Ice Age isn't the only Blue Sky property that proved to have legs - or, in this case, talons. 2011's Rio, a colourful culture clash comedy about a mollycoddled blue macaw (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg) who struggles to adopt to life in his native Brazil after being raised in Minnesota, was another smash hit for Fox, making almost $485 million at the global box office.

A sequel followed in 2014, and - law of diminishing returns be damned - proved an even bigger hit, breaking $500 million worldwide. Still, there's been no word of a third film being on the cards.

It's also worth bearing in mind that Blue Sky's other releases include Horton Hears A Who, The Peanuts Movie, Epic, and the upcoming Ferdinand. Will Disney be keen on sequels for any of those in the years ahead - or, with both their own animation wing and Pixar, do they already have their hands full in that department?
