As a younger version of 616 Eddie Brock, I can't really think of anyone better than Ryan Kwanten for the role. A well-built, toned guy, Kwanten isn't too dissimilar facially from some artistic interpretations of the character, which is a good start. He has age on his side as far as interacting with Andrew Garfield in future movies is concerned (which, given their history in the comic books, is actually quite essential) and he should have the Eddie Brock character down to a tee. Brock is known in the comics for disappointing his Father and Kwanten plays characters who disappoint and let down people close to him all the time. In Home and Away (as Vinnie Patterson) and in True Blood (as Jason Stackhouse), as well as several of his other roles, Kwanten has played such characters. Also, from his part as Griff in Griff the Invisible, he has experience of a superhero movie (albeit a comedic spoof superhero movie). Indeed, in Adi Shankar and Joe Lynch's short fan film "Truth in Journalism", Kwanten has already played Eddie Brock, staking his claim for the official role in no uncertain terms. If you haven't already seen it, look it up. So there you have it - thirteen actors who should play Venom in the spin-off movie. Do you agree with any of these choices? Which version of Eddie Brock do you think should be portrayed in the movie? Who else would you like to see in the role? Let us know in the comments box below.
