The Amazing Spider-Man 2: 7 Reasons It Makes Sense To Keep Gwen Stacy Alive

gwen stacey One of the defining events in both the history of Spider-Man, and the history of comics in general, is the death of Peter Parker/Spider-Man's love Gwen Stacy at the hands of the Green Goblin. It was a moment that changed the shape of the comic book medium forever. Never before had a superhero's love interest been killed, and it paved the way for the romance between Peter and Mary Jane Watson, the woman he'd eventually marry. Gwen Stacy appeared in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, and in last year's The Amazing Spider-Man, where Emma Stone took on the role. Mary Jane was Peter's primary love interest in the Raimi trilogy but The Amazing Spider-Man positioned Gwen as Peter's first love and as such, there's been much discussion of when Gwen will meet her destiny in this series. There have been rumours and speculation about Gwen dying in next year's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and while it appears, from what we know of the film, that Gwen will likely not be killed off, who knows for sure? Here's several reasons why it'd be a wiser choice to keep Gwen alive throughout the film.
