The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Ending: 11 Big Questions For Webb's Spidey Universe

4. How Will Mary Jane Be Introduced?

Mary Jane Thanks to the somewhat on the nose montage sequence of Parker standing by his lost love's grave through the seasons (somehow enduring three whole seasons in a matter of only five months), we know that Peter Parker is pretty devastated. But then, by the end of the film, Aunt May has symbolically packed away Uncle Ben, proving that grief only endures as long as you can see the departed's trinkets, and given Peter the model for getting on with his own life, which he apparently does. Ignoring the fact that the two situations are in no way similar, since Parker actually played a significant part in making his own grief, we're clearly now presented with a Parker who has mostly moved on. So where does Mary Jane come into play? Will Peter now be haunted by the ghosts of both Gwen and her father? And how exactly will he find the time to woo a new love interest with what amounts to Jacob Marley's chains dragging around after him?
