2. He Didn't Actually Call His Wife During A Battle
One of the defining moments toward the end of the film is a phone call Bradley Cooper makes to his wife in the aftermath of his duel with Mustafa to tell her that simply can't deal with the trauma of war anymore and that he's going to come home to be with her and his children. All in the middle of a battle. While Kyle did frequently make use of a satellite phone to keep in touch his family, occasionally during active duty when things had taken a lull, this call never took place. Twice however, fighting broke out while was in the midst of a call and on one occasion his failure to disconnect before putting the phone down led to his wife listening to almost the entire firefight until the battery eventually died - a scene that is depicted in the film. Electrical sockets are a little harder to come by in the middle of a warzone though, and it was a number of days later before Kyle could call again and let his wife know that he was still alive.
