Amy Adams spends a NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2

we heard in December that "the best paid actress in Hollywood" Reese Witherspoon was offered the role of the historical female aviation pilot Amelia Earhart in the soon to be filming sequel of the outrageously popular 2006 festive hit. Now Variety say Amy Adams has been cast in an 'unknown historical role' in the film and as she is the right age and could kinda look like Earhart quite easily, it's my guess that either Witherspoon turned them down, or the execs went for some cheaper. The trades say her character will have a crush on Ben Stiller's security guard character when the artifacts from the Museum of Natural History are boxed up and sent to the archives at the Smithsonian in Washington, the new location for the series. No word on the rest of the talent returning from the original, with only Dick Van Dyke's name added to the cast list on IMDB recently. I did expect Robin Williams to return but we've heard nothing on that front as yet, Carla Gugino I would be surprised to see back, same goes for Owen Wilson & Steve Coogan... though Ricky Gervais has hinted in the past that he would return for a small cameo if his busy schedule permits. Like Adams... like the concept behind the original.... totally hated the execution. Though this is going to make a shit load of money when it hits next May, whether we like it or not.
