Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Teaser Poster Unveiled
Start saving up for those new suits. Fantastic!
Since news dropped that an Anchorman sequel is no longer the stuff of dreams and has gone into production, people have been waiting and anticipating as much news and brand spanking new information as possible. With that, I'm pleased to say that some has arrived - in the form of a teaser poster. It's not ground breaking, but it's better than a kick in the face with a pair of steel-toed boots. The poster itself speaks testament to how iconic the Channel 4 News Team have become to our generation, using just loafers and trousers we can instantly recognise what the poster is all about. If you can't, then luckily for you there's a huge clue at the bottom. It seems that the Adam McKay directed sequel has decided to lose the "Anchorman 2" tag, and go with the new title of "Anchorman: The Legend Continues". I don't think there's any questioning of the legendary status of Ron Burgundy, and what kind of antics he and the Channel 4 News Team have gotten themselves in to this time around. Will Ferrell (Ron Burgundy), Steve Carell (Brick Tamland), Paul Rudd (Brian Fantana) and David Koechner (Champ Kind) are scheduled to be making a return, however the where abouts of Christina Applegate (Veronica Corningstone) are left unknown. The original film also benefited greatly from the vast amount of cameos that were thrown in to the mix (Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Danny Trejo, Luke Wilson, Tim Robbins, Jack Black, Seth Rogen) that we're eager to see what the sequel can bring to the plate. Given the film only took $90,574,188 at the global box office, it quickly became a cult classic. It wouldn't surprise me if their was a list of people as long as your arm hoping to get in on the action. At this point in time there is no confirmed plot for the sequel. However, last month Adam McKay did have this to say about potential plot content shortly after Burgundy took to American TV to announce the sequels status.
"I don't want to give away too much but I'll just give a couple pieces of ideas that weve kicked around. Keep in mind we're still writing the story, but I'll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I'll give you that. Ill give you one other one: bowling for dollars."As to what this means, we have no clue. Could this elude to Burgundy and Corningstone having a child? Who and for what are they fighting for rights to? Baxter perhaps? Or is this just a string of statements that will no doubt be made to throw us off of the scent? Whatever it is, I'm not even mad - I'm sure it'll be impressive. "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues", starring Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and co-written and directed by Adam McKay is scheduled to hit the big screen in 2013.
