Anne Hathaway is Dancing With Sheba
Anne Hathaway will play a 10 year rehab patient in Jonathan Demme's next film Dancing With Sheba. Demme who was a big player in the early 90's with the hits Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia has most recently directed The Manchurian Candidate remake in 2004. Actress Debra Winger will play Hathaway's mother. Hathaway spoke of the project to Black Film (via Slash Film)...
Its a fun premise for a movie actually. Not fun, but its a dark comedy. I play an ex-model whos been in and out of rehab for 10 years and has just come out of a 8 months stay so shes really serious about it this time, and she arrives home on the weekend of her sisters wedding.It's been a long time since Jonathan Demme has directed something interesting but with Philadelphia and Silence of the Lambs, we all know he is capable of it. A chance for Hathaway too to show us her acting chops rather than just looking fashionable in something like The Devil Wears Prada.
