20 Horror Movies You'll Never Get To See
16. The Invisible Man 2
Leigh Whannell's reimagining of The Invisible Man is one of the most pleasantly surprising horror films of the 2020s so far, and while Whannell and star Elisabeth Moss initially claimed it was an entirely standalone movie, the duo ultimately decided to begin developing a follow-up.
By 2024, Moss' own production company Love & Squalor Pictures had partnered with Blumhouse to produce the film, though nothing of positive substance has been said about the sequel since.
Last year Moss re-affirmed her desire to make the sequel if the team can crack the creative elements, though shortly before this filmmaker Whannell threw cold water on the very idea.
In a THR interview, Whannell said he "can’t imagine glueing more story" onto The Invisible Man, before calling the film's ending a "closed door" that should be left closed.
While it's possible that Moss ends up making the sequel with another creative team entirely, considering we're already six years removed from the original and it's gained no traction whatsoever, it seems highly unlikely The Invisible Man 2 ever actually gets made. And that's just fine, honestly.
