Ant-Man 3: Everything It Needs To Fix About The Franchise
1. Make M.O.D.O.K. The Main Antagonist
Sounds ridiculous on paper, but hear me out. The Mobile Organism Designed Only for Killing (M.O.D.O.K.) is one of the few iconic Marvel villains still left to make their MCU debut, going up against virtually every big hero in the comics over the years. The MCU is already looking to pull on dangling plot threads from Iron Man 3 with its upcoming Shang-Chi adaptation, so his ties with A.I.M. would be a perfect gateway to introduce him while also giving the shady organisation the limelight they deserve.
However, the biggest justification for bringing in M.O.D.O.K. now is how well he would fit the tone. The Ant-Man films have always been lighter comedies, able to go a bit more ridiculous than the standard MCU flick. It's definitely hard to take a massive floating head with tiny arms and legs seriously (Pym particle accident anyone?), so who better to have fun with it than Rudd & Co.
Supporting this, Reed has actually expressed interest in including him, with the likes of John Hodgman already campaigning for the role. Hopefully Reed and Feige can pull this off, cause if you want to change the game for the third film while still keeping true to the characters, this is how you do it.
