Ant-Man & The Wasp: 7 Things We Want To See In Marvel’s Insect-Themed Sequel

1. A Bigger Role For Cassie Lang

Ant-Man is a legacy hero, a mantle that is passed down from one generation to another - and Scott Lang€™s daughter Cassie is destined to inherit the shrinking powers one day. Cassie is but a young girl in the original Ant-Man - played by Abby Ryder Fortson - but her comic book counterpart goes on to become the Young Avenger known as Stature. Depending on how many years later Ant-Man and Wasp is set, it may still be too soon for Cassie to don the red and black, but there should at least be some foreshadowing and baby steps towards her rise in stature. Exposing Cassie to Pym Particles opens the door for Marvel to eventually get a Young Avengers movie off the ground - the old guard have to pass the torch on at some point, right? Expect a few seeds to be sown, but Fortson's young age casts doubt on Stature making her full debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Moreover, Cassie's decision to turn to superheroism in the comic books was motivated by the death of her father at the hands of an insane Scarlet Witch, and that's something we hope we won't have to witness in the movies anytime soon.
